Why do we recommend a credit card? If you receive cash back from using FreeU we can simply credit your credit card.

Super easy. When you receive the gateway, pull it out of the box, plug it in, and search for the U-wifi network SSID on your device, the initial password is on the bottom of the U gateway.

If your gateway is lost or stolen, please contact us immediately. We will deactivate your gateway and send you a new one. You will be responsible for the cost of the new gateway.

With U-wifi its no problem, pack up your gateway and take it to your new home. Plug it in and connect your Wi-Fi as you normally do. Then login to your U-wifi account and change your address. It’s that easy.

The U-wifi gateway supports 256 devices.

Typically, the best 5G signal can be found by placing your gateway near a window. If you can see a cell tower or know where the closest tower to your location is, we recommend placing the gateway in a window facing towards the tower and on the highest floor in your home.

For rural areas or hard to reach 5G coverage areas, U-wifi’s home gateway has an external antenna capability. To order an external antenna we recommend the U-wifi External Antenna. If you would like to purchase from another source, here are the specifications.

You can go to the U-app and in support show the signal strength of your device in a given location. The U-wifi gateway is using the latest and greatest Wi-Fi technologies to provide as much coverage as possible (typically a 2500 sq. ft. home). If your home is large or have barriers that is preventing a strong signal you may considered adding a U-wifi MESH device to extend the coverage in your home.
